*well. he's had to face this fact, whether he wanted to or not.
SAI folks, this dark brooding guy has shown up at your building. He probably at least made an appointment before coming, and he's waiting now before he can be let in to talk about Psychic Limiters.
He'd really rather not be here, so maybe someone can talk to him and calm his nerves a bit.*

Yes. Yamada, Mamoru.
I'm here about Psychic Limiters.
no subject
Is this the first time you've come to see us?
no subject
Yes. Haven't had a reason to until recently.

I guess I can get all the details done before I pass you on to the team that makes the limiters. If you want to follow me-- *He is about to turn to lead Mamoru to his office when he looks over at Tomoko. He's silent for a moment, before looking back at Mamoru.*
I usually don't let Tomoko sit in with me while I'm with a client, but, if you have any questions about Psychic abilities and limiters, she might be able to answer you from her own experience here. If you'd be okay with that.
If not, that's also fine.
no subject
... If she can offer answers about Limiters, then... it's fine.
no subject
Okay, then! If you'll follow me to my office, we can talk about them.
*Juudai walks off, with Tomoko following, leading Mamoru down a hallway to an office door. He opens it, letting both Tomoko and Mamoru in.*
Feel free to take a seat at the desk.
no subject
Thank you.
You're... Mr. Yuuki, correct?
no subject
Yes, that's right.
*Juudai goes to sit down on the opposite side of the desk. Tomoko pulls up a chair and sits beside him. He notes that he seems quite anxious, so he tries not to press on to fast.*
Would you like anything to drink before we start?
no subject
*he lets out a breath.*
no subject
*Tomoko gets up and walks over to a water cooler in the room. She fills a small cup with water and then gives it to him.*
Here you go!
no subject
What details do you need to know?
no subject
Mostly I'd just like to discuss what lead you to come here and allow you to ask any questions you may have.
You said you didn't have a reason to come here until recently?
no subject
That's correct.
I've been a Psychic Duelist my whole life, manifesting since I first experienced the hologram style of dueling, years ago. However, once I realized what was happening, I took steps to have control over it. I managed well enough, even with my confusion as to why. As a result, even when Limiters became possible, I didn't feel a need to obtain one.
However... I have reason to believe that my abilities have gotten strong enough to the point where I don't need to duel, to start affecting things.
no subject
I see. So your ability have taken an unusual spike in strength recently.
Is there anything you feel contributed to it, or was it just something that seemed to happen on it's own.
no subject
Well, I was part of a troublesome incident, well over a year ago, now.
no subject
An incident...?
*Juudai notices the increase in his anxiety as this is brought up.*
If this is something you wish not to talk about, it's fine. Though the more we know, the more we can hopefully help.
no subject
Do you recall hearing about an event that took place in November of 2016, where a researcher had gone berserk?
no subject
*Juudai nods.*
Yes, I remember that.
no subject
I was that researcher.
no subject
Ah, right.
So there's a good chance your experience with that may of somehow amplified your ability to be stronger than it was originally.
I agree getting a limiter is a good move, especially if it's effecting things even outside of dueling.
Is there anything you'd like to ask about limiters and the process of getting one?
no subject
Yes. The experience itself... left an effect upon me, even if I don't recall it personally. Since then, I hadn't dueled again until very recently, but there's been signs of it interfering with my current work.
As for limiters themselves... There's no known side-effects of using one, correct?
(1/2)
There's no side effects at all. They simply aide in reducing the effects of and controlling psychic abilities when it's needed.
(2/2)
Hm! I've had mine for a while now and it's never done anything bad, though I don't need to wear mine all the time. I've been training here to control the ability myself! I only wear the limiter if I really feel I need to. Usually if I'm dueling someone younger than me, or someone who might be a bit fragile... so I don't accidentally hurt them.
*She takes what looks to be a bracelet out of her pocket and holds it out to him so he can have a look at it.*
They can also make them into all sorts of things so they're really discreet!
no subject
It's something I had to wonder about, at least. I'm not certain still what causes Psychic abilities like this to manifest. It's something I was researching, but the best I could assume was either hereditary factors, or outside influences.
So, I don't know what dampeners like the Limiters have as an effect upon that...
no subject
Yes, there's still a lot not known about the actual cause of psychic abilities, and although I've never known any side effects being caused by the Limiters, we do take into account that it does suppress the power, so I'd recommend at least having some time without wearing it now and then, possibly when you're at home or in a place where, if the ability was to act up, it wouldn't do any harm.
For Tomoko here, her powers showed signs of developing when she was quite young, but we didn't get her a limiter until the ability started to manifest more strongly a few years ago, just so we didn't risk anything like accidentally stunting her abilities as they were developing.
