[Dual Post]
(( [Important Log] ))
[Announcement]
I would like to announce that all testing for the AI Duelist system has been completed.
Thank you to everyone who participated in the three rounds of testing that I had organized, and while there were multiple bumps along the way, it has been a fruitful experience.
I hope that the progress made with this system will be able to be applied soon enough in future endeavors for LDS, as well as schools such as Duel Academy and the College, and the associated programs such as the Super Junior League and New Horizons.
Thank you once again.
[Event]
*... and after that announcement was made, Mamoru's just. Spending some time right outside of the testing room. easily seen, too, even though he's currently sitting against the wall, head on his knees, as he mumbles into a phone. He eventually ends the call, before letting out a sigh.
He has not had a great day.*

Yamada, I'd like to talk to you in your office.
::Members of the Top Team's investigation and inspection branch are here as well. Oh no.::

::Goes into your office and seats himself.::
I'd like you to please explain to me directly, not through reports, what's been going on during Final Beta for your system. LDS's Top Team is doing a physical assessment of the system's current state.
no subject
... For the most part, sir, the final beta phase has gone to plan. Most of the duels were stable. *... he takes a deep breath.*
However, some instances occurred that made people question the high accuracy of the simulations themselves. At one point, one of them actually went and questioned the equivalent monster that they dueled against, and confirmed there was some memory retention.
I was unsure of how to proceed, knowing this, so I simply continued with the tests, prioritizing finishing them before I researched into that. I attempted to avoid the cause of the issue, especially, by testing out the final phase of the system-- the implementation of the Real Duelist AI, sir.
no subject
... And what exactly is this system I've paid for.
Because it sounds like it isn't a virtual reality simulator now.
It sounds like you've made a Dark Game Engine of sorts. Which was partially the point, but nowhere to this extent, Yamada.
::Takes a deep breath, sighing himself. If you look closely, your boss looks worn thin.::
no subject
I assure you, I did not intend on implementing those elements to this extent either, sir.
It is fully meant to be an AI simulator. To attempt to imitate duelists who sign on and agree to have their likeness and decks registered. The monsters were a stand-in, but... *... hnmn.*
... Something happened during that last test. It was absolutely unlike the previous examinations. No sign of this occurring to this level should have been possible, and I had disabled all code associated with simulating Dark Games.
no subject
Which is why the Top Team will be doing a full investigation into the system.
And after they have, we will be discussing if you'll be working here or if I need to be giving you your severance package.
Partially depending on the results of what the Top Team finds. And...
::Reiji flops out of his chair, asleep.::

::He's fine.
Just. Asleep. He doesn't look like he hurt anything.::
no subject
He considers calling for a medical team, since this isn't exactly healthy (or comfortable), but he decides instead to carefully shake Reiji's shoulder to spare him the embarrassment of a group coming in to collect him.*
no subject
::Groans a minute or two later, slowly sitting up.::
...

I'm going to say this, irregardless of being at risk of losing my job, as well as the massive hypocrisy on my part.
I think you should go home and get some sleep.
no subject
... I passed out, didn't I.
no subject
no subject
... I'm not going to go too deeply, but yes.
I probably should sleep. But between the Super Junior League, you and the Special Projects Division, the Pro Leagues, and preparing for a likely invasion soon.
::Pulls himself up.::
Sleep feels like a luxury I can ill afford. It feels irresponsible to sleep.
no subject
But I feel that if an invasion is happening soon, you'd be better off being energized and focused.
You cannot expect to take charge if you're in danger of passing out.
no subject
...
::Opens mouth. Closes mouth. Rubs chin. Thinking for a few minutes::
That's a good point.
I'll keep that in mind. I've been putting off doing something important as well.
no subject
*he takes a deep breath.* I need to make more calls, sir. Even with the risks at hand for myself, I'll take full responsibility for the repair work for the system.
no subject
...
Make sure you do it with the Top Team.
I want this done both quickly, and in a manner that we can figure out what exactly is going on, Yamada. But I can't overlook company property being damaged and defective to this extent, either.
no subject
*he bows his head slightly, and then turns to go.* If that is all, then.
no subject
It is. For the moment.
... I would hate to lose you as an asset and employee.
::Walks out before heading out the door, before being stopped by a young man with blonde hair and a headband, wearing a Top Team Outfit, who whispers in the president's ear. ... Reiji talks to him for a moment, before leaving, while the young man look up at you a bit unnervingly, Mamoru.::
no subject
I've been told to cooperate with your team concerning the repairs of the AI system.
no subject
I ain't with that part of the Top Team, Doc. But.
Like the boss-man says. We'd hate to lose you as an asset.
::He says this with a southern drawl. Definitely Kyoto or Osaka. Taps chin for a moment.::
Though, thinkin' on it, I do have a question or two for ya, Doc.
Ya know either of these two?
::Pulls out the worst looking photos of Asuka and Sora. As in goofy faces, not picture quality.::
no subject
They were both previously subjects for the AI System tests.
